Miss Teen USA Resigns After Months of Grappling
Miss Teen USA 2023, UmaSofia Srivastava, has resigned from her post.
Srivastava announced her decision on Instagram, writing that her personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.
Srivastava's resignation comes just days after Miss USA 2023, Noelia Voigt, also stepped down from her title. Voigt cited personal reasons for her departure.
In her Instagram post, Srivastava did not specify what led to her decision to resign. However, she did say that she had been grappling with the decision for months.
"This was not an easy decision," Srivastava wrote. "I have loved my time as Miss Teen USA and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have represented my country."
Srivastava's resignation is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Miss Universe Organization. In recent years, several titleholders have resigned or been stripped of their titles for various reasons.
