Brown, White lead 3-point barrage
Thompson's block seals dominant Celtics win
The Boston Celtics took a commanding lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a resounding 120-95 victory in Game 1 on Tuesday night.
Jaylen Brown and Derrick White led the Celtics' 3-point onslaught, combining for 11 made threes on 18 attempts. Brown finished with a team-high 25 points, while White added 22 points.
Tristan Thompson's emphatic block of a Derrick White layup attempt in the fourth quarter sealed the victory for the Celtics.
The Celtics' victory was a complete team effort, with six players scoring in double figures. Jayson Tatum added 20 points, Grant Williams scored 17, and Robert Williams III chipped in with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Cavaliers were led by Darius Garland's 23 points, but they struggled to keep pace with the Celtics' hot shooting. Cleveland shot just 38.8% from the field and 27.6% from 3-point range.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Cavaliers in Game 2 on Thursday night.
