2024 Solar Eclipse
The next solar eclipse visible in the United States will be a total eclipse on April 8, 2024. The eclipse will first appear over the South Pacific Ocean and begin its journey across North America. Mexico's Pacific coast will be the first to experience the total eclipse, which will then cross into the United States in Texas.
Viewing the 2024 Solar Eclipse
The total eclipse will begin in Mexico at about 11:07 am PDT on Monday, April 8, 2024. It will then cross into Texas at around 12:00 pm CST and continue northeast across the United States. The eclipse will reach its maximum point of totality over Lake Erie at about 2:18 pm EST. The total eclipse will then cross into Canada and end over the Atlantic Ocean at about 3:33 pm AST.
2045 Solar Eclipse
The next total solar eclipse visible in the United States after 2024 will be on July 9, 2045. This eclipse will begin over the Pacific Ocean and cross North America from the west coast to the east coast. The total eclipse will be visible from parts of the United States, including California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
